There’s a really simple solution! Get money out of politics, reverse Citizens United, and limit campaigns to only 3 months prior to the election. All campaigns funded with identical amounts of money and by the government.

Andie, that's precisely how I see the number one priority.

This is something I have been talking about for a long time -well before Citizens United. Just think of the amazing people who could have an opportunity to serve as politicians, who would not otherwise be able to because of money.

That's a factor certainly. I for instance contemplated running for office to fill a vacated U.S. senate seat. But by far the major reason is the no contest challenge for the voice of 'we the people' vs organized money. MSM doesn't fill that gap. Nor does the presentations from two, vastly out of touch political parties.

I have been lobbying (to deaf ears) for decades, over that precise issue Andie. We the citizens, have no other meaningful defense vs 'organized money' - the sage title of this substack.

Let's start a non-profit surrounding this ideola and build it up and sell it to Apollo Capital

While this is certainly ugly, it is noting compared to the Republican's deceptive fundraising that automatically checks the box in the small print that would make the donation recurring.

I'm 75. I donated $30 to Mark Kelley when Trump accused him of sedition, $30 each to AOC and to Ilhan Omar. Big mistake. Luckily they don't have my main email address, because I get at least ten text messages on my phone everyday. I never read them and immediately type End2End and Stop and delete them as spam, but they keep coming. I learned to never answer what looks like an innocent survey because answers can't be submitted without a donation. I will never donate again. I imagine the Republicans are just as bad, probably worse. It makes me not want to vote at all, but Trump and the Republicans must be defeated, and the only possible alternative is the Democrats. Clearly, at least 77 million Americans are racists. The Republican Party should be banned, and anyone who voted for Trump, even once, never allowed to vote again, just like reconstruction after the civil war. But in the mean time, I may have to change my phone number.

Ain't that the truth.

I agree it is horrible, but both sides are active participants. The republicans do the same thing. Are you NOT aware of Trump’s fundraising emails/text messages??? I’m a registered Republican, and the amount of confusing and diabolical fundraising messages, that secretly steal your money(fine print says that you will keep donating until you figure out how to stop it-and I still haven’t found the solution to end their scam.

Are you just trying to be one sided?

DNC destroyed my email. Damaged my cell and text. I give to Lincoln Project now.

Is there a link to the actual video or audio of the INTERVIEW? I am told by a friend that the audio was an AI voice over of the original investigation.

Hi: Thank you for your work. There is a new ploy (perhaps) in Ohio. The address is www.ohioneighbor.org

I get regular messaging from them from a phone number 1-513-342-8176. They 'promise' to pay folks like me $250.+ to get involved, sharing conversations, networking, etc.

I'd care for you to know that I would happily contribute to your work. However, I can not. I got disabled 9 years ago - on the job, fortune 500 multinational corp., who took no responsibility for the accident. My household has subsisted - barely on SS alone for income. Thank you again for your work; It's necessary, seen and appreciated sincerely.

David and Matt sum it up nicely (about the 1hr mark); " ... I worry about an election where the dem party does really well in '26, in '28 and then in '29 there is a catastrophe, financial crisis of some sort and there is no government capacity setup...since the Internet, the way to win as a candidate is to have a consult that does your online fund raising really well and your viral video really well, just having ideas is not really part of the equation..."

Its a specific example, that for the dem party it all about getting the win, principles, ideas, policies are evidently not much of a consideration.
