Below you can find a YouTube post of the recording for Episode #43, How Do You Do, Fellow Kids: Skateboarding And Private Equity.
This week David did a solo run with researcher Daniel Stone of the Center for Economic and Policy Research discussing how private equity rolled up, chewed up, and spit out the phenomenon that was 1970-1990s skateboarding counterculture. They go through the stinky laundry list of brands and companies that died, a few stragglers who survived, and end with policy choices to make the future brighter.
Our apologies for the video technical difficulties, they are resolved within five minutes. Thank you for bearing with it!
This is not as heavily edited as the podcast is, it’s closer to the raw video of our taping session. We also have a rough transcript for you.
We have set up a YouTube channel that you can subscribe to for all future episodes.
Thanks for watching the show! We’ll have another one for you soon.

So interesting, not a skateboarder, but always loved the artistic cultural aspect of it and own several Supreme hoodies(that is my only skateboarding experience) 🤪 private equity should be regulated more. How is this legal is the best question especially when it comes to healthcare!
