Below you can find a YouTube version of Episode #33, How Oregon Is Ending Corporate-Run Healthcare.
This week Matt and David start the show mentioning Luigi Mangione’s birthday note from prison “27 Things I’m Thankful For,” which happens to highlight David’s The American Prospect at number eight, with a bullet (intended).
In even better news, our subject this week is the groundbreaking Oregon Bill 951 which intends to limit corporate control of medical practices and facilities. This is essentially a U.S. State government attempting to put an end to private equity and other corporate entities “rolling up” medical services. After which, these companies increase profits by limiting resources and decreasing medical care overall. Our guests, Oregon State Representative Ben Bowman and Hayden Rooke-Ley, did yeoman’s work on this, and they hope to see more like it across the country.
This is not as heavily edited as the podcast is, it’s closer to the raw video of our taping session. We also have a rough transcript for you.
We have set up a YouTube channel that you can subscribe to for all future episodes.
Thanks for watching the show! We’ll have another one for you soon.
