Below you can find a YouTube post of the recording for Episode #45, The Google Ruling Sucks.
On October 20th, 2020, the “U.S. Department of Justice and 11 states (“U.S. Plaintiffs”) filed an antitrust complaint against Google” states the Procedural History section of the recent remedy ruling which ended the case, for now. In that ruling, filed the day after Labor Day 2025, Judge Amit Mehta found that the best remedy for Google’s clear monopoly was to let Google fix said monopoly. Fingers crossed!
In this Emergency Podcast Video, David and Matt break down the ridiculousness in the 230 page remedy document. Highlights include: details of the courts previous ruling that Google was in fact a monopoly, the ways plaintiffs suggested the court remedy said monopoly, and the court’s justification for not doing anything (spoiler: “REASONS”) and the horrific ripples this will send (is already sending) worldwide.
This is not as heavily edited as the podcast, it’s closer to the raw video of our taping session. We also have a rough transcript for you.
We have set up a YouTube channel that you can subscribe to for all future episodes.
